Patrick Pierson enters his second year as Sports Information Director at St. Bonaventure. Pierson spent the previous three years as the department's Assistant Sports Information Director.
Pierson is responsible for the department's media and public relations efforts, including the official web site, www.GoBonnies.com. During the summer of 2008, Pierson coordinated the complete redesign of the department's web site with CBS College Sports. He will also serve as the primary publicist for the nationally-recognized men's basketball program and will oversee St. Bonaventure's other 13 sports.
For three years, Pierson served as the chief publicist for the women's basketball program and the host SID for the annual St. Bonaventure Shootout in Elmira, N.Y. He also served as the media contact for 11 other sports and managed the athletic communications intern staff.
Around campus, Pierson also serves as the Chair of Hall of Fame Selection Committee, and is a member BonAlumnus Board. Pierson was also recently appointed to the Atlantic 10 Softball Championships Committee.
Pierson is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the ECAC-SID Association. He will serve on CoSIDA's Publication Contest Committee for the 2008-09 academic year.
A native of Frewsburg, N.Y., Pierson graduated from Robert Morris University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
During his stay at Robert Morris, Pierson worked in the athletic department's sports information office for three years and had a one-year stint as a marketing intern. Also, while in Pittsburgh, Pierson also served as a promotions intern for the national-recognized Pittsburgh's ESPN Radio 1250 and as a NFL Experience intern for the Pittsburgh Steelers for two years.
