2001 St. Bonaventure graduate Mark Evers is in his second season as a member of the coaching staff. He serves as the teams' infield instructor and bench coach. The Troy, N.Y. native helped the Bonnies to a school record 30 wins last year.

As a player, Evers was a four-year starter at shortstop and second base. He was a two-year co-captain and an All-Conference selection in 2000 who ranks in the top five on five of St. Bonaventure's career batting lists including hits, home runs and at-bats.

"Mark is invaluable. As a player he was a student of the game. Now as the bench coach he brings that knowledge and his hard-nosed competitive spirit to the rest of the team," coach Sudbrook said.

Evers graduated with honors, earning a bachelor's degree in finance. He was selected GTE/CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-America in 2000 and to the Verizon Academic All-District Team in 2001.

Evers is currently working toward his master's degree in business/finance at St. Bonaventure.
