As A Sophomore (2009)
Almost doubled his workload from the previous season … spent the entire season as an Atlantic 10 weekend starter … worked a team-high 89.2 innings over 12 starts … 89.2 innings is fifth-best in single-season history and ranked sixth in the A-10 … finished with a 4-5 record and a 4.72 ERA … all four of his team-high four complete games came in A-10 play … went six or more innings in 10 of 12 starts … struck out 55 batters over a total of 13 appearances, including six outings with at least five strikeouts … held left-handed batters to a meager .214 batting average (24-112) … went 2-0 with a 1.15 ERA and nine strikeouts over 15.2 innings during southern trip … scattered six hits over 7.2 innings of work for win over Villanova in first start of the season … closed out the trip with an eight-inning gem against SIU-Edwardsville that featured seven strikeouts and just one walk … earned a no-decision in the second game at Dayton (Mar. 21) despite going over eight innings … improved to 3-0 with a complete game victory at Saint Joseph’s (Mar. 27) in which he struck out seven … picked up another complete game A-10 win in the series finale against Xavier (Apr. 11), giving up just one earned run … despite losing next two starts, went eight innings at Rhode Island (Apr. 17) and tossed another complete game against Richmond (Apr. 24) … struck out six over eight innings in a no-decision against Duquesne (May 9).  

As A Freshman (2008)
Turned in a solid first season on the mound … posted a 3-1 record with a 7.21 ERA … made 18 appearances, including six starts … struck out 46 batters over 48.2 innings of work … led the team with a 8.51 strikeouts per game average … struck out five or more batters in a game four times … started the season as a middle reliever before working his way to a mid-week starter and fourth in the A-10 rotation … made a pair of starts in A-10 play, going 1-1 … pitched the last four innings and struck out six against Mount St. Mary’s (Feb. 26) to earn his first career save … tossed five shutout innings of relief during 3-2 win at Fordham (Mar. 21) for first collegiate victory … entered in the eighth inning against the Rams and held them to no runs while striking out five in the 12-inning win … made back-to-back starts against Buffalo in late April … tossed a complete game in first start against the Bulls (Apr. 22), striking out seven while giving up just one run … second start against Buffalo (Apr. 29) came in the opening round of the Big 4 Classic where he struck out a season-high eight over eight innings to improve to 3-0.

High School
Two-time New York State Class C All-State selection … earned CCAA Player of the Year honors in both his junior and senior year …. two-time All-Western New York … struck out 107 while walking just nine walks over 67 innings as a senior earning first team All-League … posted a 0.53 ERA while hitting .305 and knocking in 33 runs at the plate … as a junior, fanned 115 while walking a mere 16 over 58.2 innings of work … also won a sectional swimming championship in the 500-free in high school.

Born on January 10, 1989 … son of Bruce and Nancy Johnson … brother of former Bonnies swimmer, Anneli, and current women’s swimming & diving head coach, Seth … also has three younger brothers, Asa (18), Thad (16), Tage (13) and a younger sister, Kiah (9) … won Outstanding Student-Athlete Citizen Award … management major with a sports management minor.
