Position: Assistant Coach
First-year assistant coach Jonathan Myler brings college and professional baseball experience along with a superb work ethic to the Bonnies' coaching staff. A 2001 St. Bonaventure graduate, Myler was an all-conference catcher for the Bonnies and then played professionally for three years. The Warren, Pa., native assists head coach Larry Sudbrook in all facets of the program. He serves as the Bonnies' bench coach, hitting instructor, pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. In the offseason, Myler directs Larry Sudbrook's Top Gun Summer Baseball Camp. In his two years in a Bona uniform, Myler averaged .361 at the plate - good for second all-time on the school's career batting list. He also knocked out 22 home runs, a total which stands third on the Bonnies' all-time list. Myler's career .696 slugging percentage is the school record. In his senior season, Myler earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team, helping the Bonnies to a 26-19 overall record. He recorded a team-high .368 batting average, including 11 home runs and 52 RBI. As a junior in 2000, Myler helped the Bonnies win the A-10's East division and record 26 wins overall. Myler furthered his baseball career when the Pittsburgh Pirates signed him to a free agent contract. He played three seasons in the Pirates' system before a shoulder injury ended his playing days. Myler is working toward his master's degree in counseling at St. Bonaventure.
