As A Sophomore (2009)
Developed into an every third baseman … AT THE
PLATE … started 43 games at third base …
improved his batting average by 34 points over the final two weeks
of the season to finish at a .284 clip from the right side of the
plate … fifth on the team with 44 hits that featured five
doubles, four triples and one home run … tied for the team
lead and ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 with four triples
… scored 23 runs and knocked in 15 runs (RBI) … had
12 multi-hit performances … hit .348 (16-46) with two outs
and .307 against right-handers (31-101) … successful on
8-of-10 stolen base attempts … turned in the second-longest
hit streak of the season, going eight games with a hit from Mar.
5-21 … hit .481 (13-27) over eight-game hit streak that
featured three hits against SIU-Edwardsville (Mar. 8) and at Dayton
(Mar. 20) … three-hit afternoon at Dayton came in the series
opener and he followed with two more hits in game two …
drilled a two-run home run in the first inning in series-opening
win against Xavier (Apr. 9) … went 3-for-3 with an RBI
double at Niagara (Apr. 14) … ripped second RBI double in
three games at Canisius (Apr. 17) … scored a career-high
three runs and added second triple of the season at Bucknell (Apr.
22) … went 12-for-27 over the final seven games of the
season to improve batting average from .250 to .284 …
AT THE PLATE … tied for the team lead with
two saves … made 13 appearances, including 12 in relief
… finished with a 5.74 ERA over 15.2 innings … tossed
just two pitches en route to picking up the save against Villanova
(Mar. 3) … made second start of his career at Niagara (Mar.
31), striking out season-high three batters over four innings
… preserved 13-10 win over Duquesne (May 10) by recording
final out for second save.
As A Freshman (2008)
Productive on the mound and at the plate in first season in the
Brown and White … AT THE PLATE … hit
.208 from the right side of the plate with 13 runs scored, 25 hits
and 18 RBI … second on the team with two triples and one of
eight players to hit a home run … had five multi-hit games
… half (9) of his RBI came with two-outs … also stole
three bases … opened collegiate career with a 3-for-4 day
against Long Island (Feb. 23) that included two triples, two runs
scored and an RBI … followed with a season-high three RBI
against Canisius (Feb. 23) … collected two hits and two RBI
in a win over Lehigh (Mar. 2) … had two more hits against
Lehigh (Mar. 3) the following day … ripped an RBI double in
A-10 opener at Fordham (Mar. 21) … went 2-for-4 with a run
scored and RBI in Championship Game of Big 4 Classic against
Niagara (Apr. 30) … went on a four-game hit streak in
mid-May … also reeled off five consecutive games with an RBI
… drilled first career home run in opening game at Richmond
(May 15) … had an RBI single and walked twice against Temple
(May 21) in the A-10 Tournament … ON THE
MOUND … led the team with a 3.06 ERA over 16
appearances … also led the team with 11 game finished and
gave up no home runs all season … had 15 strikeouts over
17.2 innings … only allowed an earned run in three of 15
relief appearances … tossed two scoreless innings and struck
out a season-best five batters against Mount St. Mary’s (Feb.
28) for first career save … allowed no runs over final five
appearances, going a combined 5.1 innings with four strikeouts and
one walk.
