Landahl, Bonnies shut out Columbia to cap Spring Trip
March 15, 2004 BRADENTON, Fla. - Senior Matt Landahl led St. Bonaventure to a 12-0 win over Columbia on Sunday to give the Bonnies a sweet ending to their eight-game Florida trip. Landahl, who normally is a relief pitcher and is the Bonnies' starting center fielder, started against the Lions. The southpaw tossed a complete game and allowed only three hits with six strikeouts and no walks. It was the first win of his career. Landahl also went 2-5 at the plate with an RBI. The Bonnies pounded out 13 hits on the day. Freshman outfielder Brian Pellegrini and junior catcher Damian Blakeley each recorded a pair of hits. Pellegrini had three RBIs, two of which came on a home run in the top of the third inning.
St. Bonaventure returns north with a record of 3-5. The Bonnies are next in action March 23-24 at West Virginia.
