ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure senior right fielder Mike Rapacioli's three-run home run capped a four run rally as the Bonnies defeated Niagara 7-6 in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday. The Purple Eagles came back to win the nightcap 5-1.

Down 6-3, the Bonnies loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore second baseman Craig King, who started the rally with a double, scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 6-4. Rapacioli then hit a walk-off three run home run, to give the Bonnies the 7-6 win.

Senior John Brewer pitched one inning of relief to pick up the win, improving to 2-0.

In the nightcap, the Bonnies managed only four hits and a second inning run against Rylan Pranger, who threw a complete game. Freshman designated hitter Casey Rafferty's single plated senior third baseman Josh Paine for the Bonnies lone run.

Junior Nate Cameron took the loss and dropped to 0-1 on the year. Cameron gave up three runs in three and a third innings while striking out four.

Rapacioli finished the day 2-6 with a home run and three RBI and junior shortstop Eric Wilson went 2-5 with two runs scored to lead the Bonnies.

St. Bonaventure is now 18-12-1 while Niagara is 17-17.

The Bonnies return to action on Saturday at home with a doubleheader starting at noon against St. Joseph's.
