April 28, 2009

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Due to rain in the Buffalo area, the St. Bonaventure baseball's teams opening round game of the Big 4 Classic against Buffalo has been moved to Amherst Audubon Field, the home field of the Bulls.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Demske Sports Complex on the campus of Canisius College, but will still start at 6 p.m. The Golden Griffs and Niagara will still play their opening round contest at Demske, but will also start at 6 p.m. instead of the originally planned 3 p.m. first pitch.

The reigning Big 4 Champs, St. Bonaventure has advanced to the championship game all five years of the tournament's existence. The Brown and White are 7-3 all-time in the Big 4 Classic.

The Bonnies are 5-3 against Big 4 opponents this season, including 1-1 against Buffalo. St. Bonaventure (20-16) is fresh off a 2-1 series win over Atlantic 10 foe Richmond at Fred Handler Park. The final win series gave the Brown and White their 12th consecutive season with at least 20 wins.
