Brian Gibbs will provide a boost to St. Bonaventure's front line, where he joins seniors Yankuba Camara and Saulius Dumbliauskas and freshman Michael Lee. The 6-foot-5, 225-lb. Gibbs comes to St. Bonaventure from Northern Mississippi Community College, where he played last season. He has three seasons of eligibility. "Brian is another fine addition to our most recent class," Bonnies coach Anthony Solomon said. "Adding depth to our frontcourt was a must for the immediate future. Brian's strength, athleticism and tenacity excite us." Last season at Northwest Mississippi, Gibbs averaged 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as the team's top reserve. He helped the Rangers to a 30-4 record and a year-end No. 7 ranking in the National Junior College Athletic Association's Division I poll. Gibbs attended North Carolina A&T in 2002-03, but did not play that season as he was red-shirted by the coaching staff. Gibbs enjoyed a strong career at Huntsville High School. As a senior, he averaged 26.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game and was named to all-Metro, all-county and all-city teams. He is Huntsville's all-time leading scorer. Gibbs also was a National Honor Society student in high school.
