Cory McClure has been an assistant coach for the St. Bonaventure University men's basketball team since June 2004.

The 30-year-old McClure spent the past four years at the University of New Hampshire. There, he was an assistant coach since 2001 after serving as director of basketball operations in the 2000-01 season. McClure was responsible for recruiting, scouting, academic monitoring, scheduling and organizing summer camps in addition to his on-court coaching duties.

McClure helped attract top recruiting classes to New Hampshire that provided the Wildcats student-athletes such as America East All-Rookie selection Blago Janev from Australia and 2004 Boston Globe player of the year Chris Vetrano.

Last season, McClure helped New Hampshire win its first America East tournament game since 1995.

McClure was the head men's basketball coach at New England College for the 1999-2000 season. There, he led a team that included 10 freshmen to the conference playoffs.

Prior to his stint as head coach, McClure was an assistant at New England College for two seasons. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Central Maine Technical College in 1996-97.

"Cory is a great addition to our staff," said Bonnies coach Anthony Solomon. "His various college experiences allow him to fulfill a variety of roles for us. In addition, his people skills will be appreciated by our University and the local community."

A native of Lisbon Falls, Maine, McClure graduated from the University of New England (formerly Westbrook College) in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He is working toward a master's degree in organizational management.

As a basketball student-athlete at Westbrook, McClure was a four-year letterwinner and a two-year starter. Over his career, Westbrook won 101 games, advanced to the NAIA national tournament twice and won three conference titles.

McClure married Destiny Tardif in June 2004. The couple resides in Olean.
