A passionate and tireless worker is what head coach Mark Schmidt has in third year assistant coach Dave Moore.

Moore leads the St. Bonaventure player development and handles the scouting of opponents during the season. Moore's intensity during practices and in one-on-one workouts has allowed St. Bonaventure players to progress quickly. Moore also assists with recruiting and monitors academic progress.

In 2008-09, the Cincinnati, Ohio native helped develop the program's second-ever Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year in Andrew Nicholson. Moore's focused attention on the team's big men helped groom the 6-foot-9 freshman to six A-10 Rookie of the week citations and averages of 12.2 points, 6.0 boards and 81 blocks - the fourth-best total by an A-10 freshman in conference history.

Moore's dedication behind the scenes is just as intense as on the court. A true student of the game, Moore's detailed scouting reports helped the Bonnies finish with a 15-15 mark in 2008-09 and helped the Brown and White return back to the A-10 Tournament. Among those 15 wins was a school record seven consecutive road victories to start the season.

Moore's blue collar work ethic paid off for St. Bonaventure's graduating senior class as his individual instruction helped Zarryon Fereti, Michael Lee and Tyler Relph all post career-best numbers in 2007-08. Lee's efforts ultimately resulted in his selection to the NABC All-District second team, while all three signed professional contracts to play oversees.

Now in his third season under Schmidt, Moore served on the Robert Morris staff in 2006-07. While with the Colonials, Moore was integral in helping RMU to a 17-11 record and a fourth place finish in the Northeast Conference.

Prior to Robert Morris, Moore spent three years as an assistant varsity boy's basketball coach at Lakota East High School in West Chester, Ohio. In 2005, Lakota East posted a school record 18 wins and won the Cincinnati City Championship.

From 2000-02, Moore served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn., specializing in game preparation. He also recruited the Memphis, Nashville, Cincinnati and New Orleans areas while coordinating individual instruction and the strength and conditioning program.

Between 1998 and 2000, Moore served was an assistant coach at the College of Mount Saint Joseph, an NCAA Division III institution in Cincinnati, Ohio. Moore helped lead Mount Saint Joseph's to an 18-8 record - a mark that still stands as the school record for wins. Moore got his start in college coaching as an assistant at his alma mater, Bethel (Tenn.) College.

A 1998 graduate, he earned a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in secondary education. A four-year letter-winner as a guard at Bethel, Moore served as team captain during the 1996-97 season and led the club in both three-pointers and assists. Moore earned a master's degree in education from Christian Brothers in 2002.

SCHMIDT'S TAKE ON MOORE
"Dave is an invaluable asset to our program. He does a terrific job with our post players and is vitally important when it comes to scouting our opponents. I'm looking forward to working with Dave for a long time."
