ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — Exactly a month after
completing his final collegiate round at the Atlantic
10 Championship, senior Nathan Peck was named to
the PING All-Northeast Region team on Wednesday.
A total of 153 players across six different regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors. Just three players from the A-10 made the six different teams.
It was a banner year for Peck, who earned his second straight A-10 All-Conference status after finishing in a tie for 12th place at last month's A-10 Championship at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The Hills, Fla. Peck moved up 10 places on the final day of the conference tournament and despite not placing in the top five to earn automatic All-Conference status, Peck was voted on to the All-Conference team after the tournament by the league head coaches.
Peck's senior season was highlighted by seven consecutive top 20 finishes to end his career, including all six spring tournaments. The Tecumseh, Ontario product posted a team-best 74.4 stroke average through 29 rounds in 12 events. Peck equaled career-highs for under-par rounds (4) and top 20 finishes (9), while also posting three top 5s and six top 10s. Peck's best tournament of the season came in the fall at the BGSU John Piper Intercollegiate where rounds of 71(-1)-72(E)-71(-1)/214(-2) led him to a fourth-place finish out of a field of 69. His 54-hole score of 214 (-2) is the sixth-best three-round total in program history.
For his career, Peck totaled a pair of runner-ups, seven top 5 finishes, 18 top 10s and a staggering 27 top 20s out of a possible 45 tournaments. Peck was among the A-10 leaders in stroke average over his last two seasons and finished with a 74.9 average over 101 career rounds.
