Men's Swimming defeats Georgetown
WASHINTON D.C – The men’s swimming and diving team
defeated Georgetown 163-138 at Albert G. McCarthy, Jr. Swimming
Pool. Junior Chris Baker led the way for the Bonnies.
Baker finished in first-place in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking
in at 48.68. He also had second-place finishes in the 50-yard
freestyle and the 200-yard IM. He finished with times of 22.50
and1:59.45, respectively.
Sophomore Mike Dansa had two first-place finishes. In the 200-yard
freestyle he touched in at 1:45.94, and in the 200-yard
breaststroke he clocked in with a time of 2:12.44. Classmate Yi Liu
finished in first-place in the 200-yard IM. He touched in with a
time of 1:58.94. He also competed in the 200-yard butterfly, where
he notched a second-place finish with a time of 1:56.72.
Junior David Kundzik competed in the 50-yard freestyle where he
notched a first-place finish with a time of 21.63. In the 100-yard
butterfly he finished in second-place with a time of 51.83.
Freshmen Elias Homerin finished in second-place in the 1000-yard
freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. He clocked in with times of
10:01.21 and 4:50.87, respectively.
In relay action, the 400-yard medley team of Dansa, Kundzik, Jared
Robinson, and Francis Nieves, finished in first-place with a time
of 3:11.69. The 200-yard medley team of Kundzik, Robinson, Baker,
and Peter Koenig touched in at 1:37.04 and a first-place
finish.
In the diving portion of the meet, freshmen Mike Murphy finished
in first-place in both the 1-meter a score of 289.85. Junior Trever
Herzog finished in first-place in the 3-meter dive with a score of
271.85. In the 1-meter dive his scored a 230.10 and a second-place
finish. Murphy finished in second-place in the 3-meter dive with a
score of 270.90.
The Bonnies will be back in the pool on Friday at home to take on
the University of Buffalo. The meet begins at 5:00 and it is Senior
Night.
