** Four-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year
** Coach of three Atlantic 10 championship teams

Three Atlantic 10 Championships, 38 individual A-10 champions, 32 relay champions and four A-10 Coach of the Year honors highlight Sean McNamee's impressive resume over 14 seasons as head men's swimming coach at St. Bonaventure University.

The 2006 season was perhaps the most dramatic, thrilling season in St. Bonaventure's history. The Bonnies were able to win the Atlantic 10 Championship by a single-digit point margin with a win in the meet's final relay. The victory snapped the Bonnies' run of five straight years as A-10 runners-up -- a remarkable string of achievements in itself.

Under McNamee's leadership, the Bonnies have finished third or higher at the A-10 Championship 12 times.

McNamee replaced his brother, Kevin, at St. Bonaventure in 1992. In his first season at Bona, his team captured the Atlantic 10 title, he earned A-10 Coach of the Year honors and qualified six Bonnies for the U.S. Senior Nationals. In 1997, McNamee's Bonnies surprised the field by finishing second at the Atlantic 10 Championships, after being picked to finish in the lower half in the preseason. McNamee's efforts earned him his second Coach of the Year award.

The 1998-99 season brought McNamee his second A-10 title and his third Coach of the Year honor.

The Bonnies' competitive success under McNamee is equaled by their consistent academic achievement. In 2004-05, three St. Bonaventure swimmers, Adrian Blaszczak, Patrick Doret and Seth Johnson, were named to the Atlantic 10's Academic All-Conference Team. Junior Michael Bogacki earned honorable mention Academic All-American honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. Bogacki qualified for the award by earning a 3.5 GPA or higher and posting a NCAA "B" cut time. The CSCAA has honored St. Bonaventure each of the past three years for the team's academic achievement.

McNamee graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1986. He earned his master's degree at West Virginia University while working as an assistant swim coach. In 1990, he accepted his first head coaching position at SUNY Potsdam. During his two seasons at Potsdam, McNamee qualified several of his swimmers for the NCAA Division III Championships.

McNamee resides in Olean, N.Y., with his wife Rosemary and their three children, Caitlyn, Liam and Shannon.
