Bona men in second after day two of A-10 championships
Feb. 16, 2006 BUFFALO, N.Y. - Following night two of the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flickinger Center, the St. Bonaventure men hold second place, trailing UMass, 257.5 - 212. Junior Chris Ekimoff claimed bronze in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:38.23. Senior Adrian Blaszczak finished eighth in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 1:57.86. In the consolation race of the 200-I.M. it was a race to the finish between St. Bonaventure's sophomore Roman Margulis, who finished first in the heat and freshman Alex Moniot, who touched second. For the race Margulis took ninth place in 1:54.3, and Moniot placed tenth in a time of 1:54.01. Senior Patrick Doret touched fourth in the 50-freestyle in 21.40, and teammate Ryan Moore took 11th in 21.62. Finishing off the night, the men took silver in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Moniot, Doret, Moore and senior Michal Bogacki finished in a time of 1:23.18. The Bonnies will return to action at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships Friday at 10:30 a.m. Doors open at the Flickinger Center for the preliminary events at 9:15 a.m., and the finals for the day will begin at 6:30 p.m.
