Bona men tied for third place with Xavier after first day of Atlantic 10 Conference Championships

Buffalo, N.Y. - The men's swimming and diving team is tied for third place with Xavier after the first day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
Massachussetts led the competition with a score of 257 while the Duquesne Dukes followed with a score of 68. St. Bonaventure and Xavier completed the first night with a tie of 62.
The Bona men captured bronze in the 800-free relay with a time of 7:41.96. Swimming in the heat for St. Bonaventure were seniors Dan Freeland and Chris Ekimoff, junior Roman Margulis and sophomore Pat Henahan.
The Bonnies return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. for preliminaries, with finals beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Flickinger Aquatic Center. Doors open at 9:15 a.m. The championship concludes Saturday, Feb. 24.
