Bona men tied for third place with La Salle after second day of Atlantic 10 Conference Championships

Buffalo, N.Y. - After the second night of competition at the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, the Bonnies edged out Xavier and are now tied with La Salle for third place with a score of 169.

Massachusetts is atop the leader board with a score of 246. Duquesne follows with 194.5.

Senior Chris Ekimoff earned bronze in the 500-yard freestyle, touching with a time of 4:35.76, beating his morning preliminary time by over three seconds.

Junior Roman Margulis put points up for the Bonnies by placing 5th in 200-yard individual medley, touching at 1:53.07.

The Bona men also took 5th place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.66. Swimming in the heat for St. Bonaventure were seniors Chris Ekimoff and Dan Freeland, junior Roman Margulis and sophomore Pat Henahan.

On the boards, sophomore Jon Larson led the Bona divers to an overall third-place finish with a score of 452.80, good for an individual fourth place.

The Bonnies return to the Flickinger Center tomorrow at 10 a.m. for preliminaries, with finals beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 9:15 a.m. The championship concludes Saturday, Feb. 24.
