ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure has signed men's swimming coach Sean McNamee to a three-year contract extension through the 2008-09 academic year, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Ron Zwierlein announced Tuesday.

McNamee led the Bonnies to the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championship and was named the conference's men's swimming Coach of the Year. The A-10 title was St. Bonaventure's third under McNamee and the eighth consecutive season that the Bonnies have placed second or better at the A-10 Championship meet. McNamee has been tabbed the A-10 Coach of the Year four times over his 14 seasons at St. Bonaventure.

"I am very happy to be able to reward Sean with this contract extension," said Zwierlein. "It is always gratifying to see talented, hard-working coaches achieve success. Sean deserves all of the accolades that he has received this year. We are thrilled that he will continue to lead our men's swimming program for a long time to come."
