Men's Tennis opens play at SBU Fall Classic

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure men's tennis opened its 2007-08 season on Friday afternoon by splitting a pair of doubles matches in its season-opening SBU Fall Classic. The tandem of junior Leo Mochizuki and freshman Chris Post finished a perfect 2-0 on the afternoon at No. 2 doubles. The tandem defeated Chris Leson and Maurice Rucker of Youngstown State, 8-1, and Duquesne's Michael Ortega and Gustavo Villares, 8-5. Senior Antonio Farias and freshman Tyler Ruppert teamed up to claim the other Bona doubles win of the afternoon against Youngstown's No. 3 doubles team. The SBU Fall Classic will resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. with St. Bonaventure taking on Youngstown St. in singles action. The Penguins will then square off against Duquesne in doubles play at 11:30 a.m. followed by a singles match between the Bonnies and Dukes at 1 p.m. Duquesne 5, Youngstown State 1
