Men's Tennis to host Fall Classic at new SBU courts

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The new St. Bonaventure Tennis Courts will be christened this weekend when the St. Bonaventure Men's Tennis Fall Classic is played Friday-Sunday, Sept. 9-11.

Prior to the start of play on Friday, the new courts will officially open with a blessing from Fr. Allen Weber, O.F.M. St. Bonaventure president Sister Margaret Carney, Director of Athletics Dr. Ron Zwierlein and Bonnies men's and women's tennis coach Michael Bates will also participate in the opening ceremony, which will begin at 10:45 a.m.

Play in the Fall Classic will get underway at noon on Friday, Sept. 9. The University at Buffalo, Cleveland State, Niagara and Youngstown State will join the host Bonnies in the field. The entire tournament will be played in individual format only. Singles and doubles winners will be crowned on Sunday.
