Thiermann places seventh at Little Three

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure men's and women's cross country teams both placed third Saturday at the Little Three Championship at Beaver Island State Park hosted by Niagara.

Niagara won the team titles in both the men's and the women's races.

On the men's side, senior Brian Thiermann placed seventh overall and first for the Bonnies with a time of 28:55. Junior Andrew Shulha and freshman Grant Lytle placed second and third for the Bonnies, finishing eighth and 18th in times of 29:00 and 31:58, respectively.

For the women, junior Carrie Jackling led the Bonnies with a time of 22:45, placing her 16th out of 27 runners. Junior Mary Harruff and junior Jesica Hendrick finished second and third for St. Bonaventure, posting times of 25:34 and 25:52, respectively.

The Bonnies return to action Oct. 30 for the Atlantic 10 Championships in Philadelphia, Pa.
