Bonnies host WBCA "Pink Zone" on February 6

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The Reilly Center will turn pink on Saturday, February 6.
The St. Bonaventure women's basketball team will participate in the nationwide Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) "Pink Zone" campaign on Saturday, Feb. 6, when the Bonnies host the Saint Joseph’s Hawks at 1 p.m.

The WBCA Pink Zone®, formerly known as "Think Pink", will be hosted in conjunction with events hosted by Olean Medical Group and Olean General Hospital to to raise awareness - and funds - to assist the fight against breast cancer.

All fans are asked to wear pink to the game and are encouraged to make a donation to the Kay Yow / WBCA Cancer Fund.

The Bonnies' players will wear commemorative t-shirts during pregame warm-ups. The Athletics Department will sell these same "Think Pink" t-shirts for $10, with all proceeds donated to the Kay Yow / WBCA Cancer Fund.

Nationwide, the WBCA says that more than 1,000 colleges and universities will hold or participate in "Think Pink" events over the next month.

During halftime of the game St. Bonaventure will recognize those that are currently battling breast cancer, survivors of breast cancer as well as those who have lost the battle and need to be remembered. Please e-mail Michelle Scannell at scannemb@sbu.edu to have your name announced while you go out on Bob Lanier Court.

The WBCA Pink Zone® initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
