Crowley's contract is extended

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure University has signed women's basketball coach Jim Crowley to a one-year contract extension through the 2006-07 season, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Ron Zwierlein announced today.

Crowley has been St. Bonaventure's head coach for six seasons. He has a record of 53-114.

This season, St. Bonaventure finished 9-18 overall and 3-13 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Crowley had one of the youngest teams in all of the NCAA's Division I with three freshmen, six sophomores, one junior and two seniors. Two of those players, senior guard Stefanie Collins and freshman forward Ashley Edwards, received All-Conference honors. Collins was an honorable mention choice while Edwards was named to the All-Rookie team.

Crowley has been at St. Bonaventure since 1996. He served as an assistant coach under Marti Whitmore from 1996-2000.
