Jan. 7, 2009
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team will host seven home contests and play at nationally ranked Ohio State in the 2009 season, Bonnies head coach Christy Malone announced today. "We are confident we have put together a challenging schedule that will prepare us for the Atlantic 10," Malone said. "With match-ups against teams from the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) our team will be facing tough competition that will help prepare us for another challenging Atlantic 10 schedule." The Bonnies will play ALC power Ohio State, who was ranked No. 26 last season according to the Lax Power website poll, in Columbus, Ohio on March 1. Other highlights during the Brown and White's non-conference slate include games at CAA member Delaware, who was ranked No. 25 last season according to the Lax Power website poll, on March 21 and home dates against Big 4 rivals Canisius and Niagara on March 17 and March 24, respectively. The Bonnies open up Atlantic 10 play against 2008 regular season champ Richmond on March 27 in Richmond, Va. St. Bonaventure's Atlantic 10 home opener is on April 3, when they host Saint Joseph's for a 3:00 p.m. game. The Brown and White will kick off their 2009 season against Robert Morris on February 27 in Moon Township, Pa.
