Women’s soccer set to host Dayton on Wednesday

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — Just two days removed from clinching its second straight trip to the Atlantic 10 Tournament, the St. Bonaventure women’s soccer team will begin a wild three games in five days stretch by hosting Dayton on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. at McGraw-Jennings Field.

The game is being played in the middle of the week to make up for the Oct. 16 game that was cancelled due to rain and snow in the Allegany and Olean area.

Both teams have already clinched spots in the conference’s postseason, but are now vying for seeding in the six-team postseason tournament.
The Bonnies are currently tied with Fordham for third place thanks to their 1-0 double-overtime win at Richmond last Sunday. The win gave the Brown and White 18 points via their 6-2 A-10 record and sealed the program’s third A-10 postseason appearance. St. Bonaventure also equaled last year’s program record for A-10 wins (6), while clinching the program’s second consecutive winning season in league play.

One of two unbeaten teams in the entire nation, Dayton will take McGraw-Jennings Field looking to keep pace with Charlotte for a share of the A-10 regular season crown. The Flyers currently sit at 12-0-5 overall and 8-0-1 in the league. They fought Charlotte to a 0-0 tie earlier in the year and have one game remaining over the weekend.

St. Bonaventure will have no time to rest as it wraps up its regular season schedule by hosting La Salle (10-6-2, 4-4-1) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. The Bonnies will then welcome Fordham (7-10-1. 6-3) to campus on Sunday for Senior Day beginning at 1 p.m.
