Former St. Bonaventure standout midfielder Bob Hammer is in his first season as the Bonnies' assistant coach.

The native of Syracuse, N.Y., graduated from St. Bonaventure in 2002 and is working on a master's degree in counseling.

Hammer was a three-year starter for the Bonnies, starting a total of 46 games. He totaled four goals and 10 assists. In high school, he was named Central New York Player of the Year as a senior at Christian Brothers Academy, and helped CBA to state titles in 1996 and 1997.

He also works with the Enchanted Mountain Soccer Club and coaches its U-17 team.
