Perevenzetseva makes round of 32 at ITA Regionals

HANOVER, N.H. - St. Bonaventure women's tennis junior Anna Perevenzetseva collected a pair of wins to advance to the round of 32 this weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional hosted by Dartmouth University.

Perevenzetseva knocked out Manhattan's Jenn Fowler 6-4, 7-5, in the opening round of the 128-player singles draw. The Moscow, Russia, native then turned in a dominating performance against Walaa Elsir of Morgan St. Perevenzetseva defeated Elsir 6-3, 6-1 to become the first Bonaventure women's tennis player to advance to the round of 32.

Her run came to end in the third round as she fell to No. 7 seed freshman Melissa Saiontz from Princeton 6-0, 6-0. Saiontz won two more matches before being beat in the semifinals.

The Bonnies fall schedule is now complete and will open their spring schedule on February 3 in Akron.
