Bonnies run at Binghamton Invitational
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure cross
country teams competed in their second meet of 2009 as the teams
both finished in fourth place at the Binghamton Invitational early
on Saturday.
Junior Tiffany Barkley paced the 5K on the women's side finishing
in 30th with a time of 23:11. Fellow classmate Chelsey Rashid
(23:45) crossed the finish line in the 33rd position.
Four Bonnies came within seconds of each other, junior Tabitha
Slachciak (24.07), sophomore Elizabeth Moran (24:14), junior
Kimberly Fuller (24:34) and freshman Kimberly Burke (24:35) taking
35th through 38th place, respectively.
Veteran runner Jimmy Burton led the pack for the Bonnies crossing
the finish line of the 8K in a team-best 28:39 for 34th place
finish. Juniors Rahkeem Wright (30:32) and Rob Ryer (30:50) took
38th and 40th, respectively. Freshman runner Adam McDermott
finished in the middle of the veteran runners, posting a 30:40
finish.
The Brown and White return to the course on Friday, Sept. 18 when
they travel to Notre dame to compete in the National Catholic
Invitational.
