Women's cross country takes 32nd out of 34 squads in the National Catholic Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The St. Bonaventure women's cross country team took 32nd out of 34 squads on Friday afternoon in the National Catholic Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. Notre Dame finished first in the women's Division I races. Freshman duo Sarah Popovics (21:45) and Michelle Damcott finished first and second the 5K race for the Bonaventure women, coming in 146th and 156th out of 267 runners, respectively. Freshman Ashley Sandau (23:08) and seniors Sarah Dressler (23:22) and Carrie Jackling (23:45) completed the Bona top five within seconds of each other. Seniors Margaret Kubiak (25:07), Mary Harruff (25:40) and Jesica Hendrick (25:55) completed the lineup. The Bonnies will compete again on Saturday, Sept. 23, running at the University of Buffalo Open Invitational in Amherst, N.Y. The women's race begins at 11:00 a.m.
